We recently got a call from John in Texas who had a new steel structure put up for his Piper Cub. The overnight contractor who handled this project told John he could also make him one of those hydraulic hangar doors… John discovered the hard way that not having an actual hydraulic door manufacturer provide the door structure and install was a big mistake! Not only did John have a door that did not open. It was poorly designed.. He had a door that was not properly engineered, had no rams/cylinders, mounts for the rams or a hydraulic power unit! The contractor bailed out of the situation claiming his “supplier” could not get him what was needed to complete the project.. John had spoke with other door companies and decided he wanted to work with Premier Door. He liked that we took the time to explain how to fix the problem as well as our concerns with the current door structure. .
