This residence in downtown Los Angeles, California needed a custom designed hydraulic garage door to fit into the existing structure. The unique complex contains three town homes with floor to ceiling windows and a Brazilian hardwood facade set at the bottom of a very narrow driveway along with each home having a two space open garage. The town homes garages are constructed of concrete with a large concrete support post set back in the center of the two car garage, removing the post in between the two spaces to make the garage opening wider and allow for a typical garage door was not an option.
The only solution was to retrofit the existing opening with a Zero Visible Hinge ® Premier Hydraulic Door. The hydraulic garage door allows for maximum use of the unique space being that the door swings outward from 0-90 degrees vs rolling in and taking headroom inside as a typical garage door does.
